Sadly, another Jazz great has left us. Armando Anthony Corea, better known as Chick Corea passed away a few days ago from a rare form of cancer that was only recently detected. Rare form is a fitting description of the keyboard master who operated freely in the realm of Jazz Fusion, Latin jazz, the avant-garde, classical, and straight-ahead jazz. In a career that spanned six decades, Chick was one of those whose influence cannot be understated. His audience reach was extraordinary and the sheer joy and achievement obvious in his delivery will forever be in the minds of those fortunate enough to perform with him, and those who inspired by what they heard. In this hour, we will sample an incredibly small portion of his musical contribution to the arts.
